Amazon Announces Return Date for Prime Big Deal Days
Amazon’s latest sales event is set for next month.
About Amazon Prime Big Deal Days:
Ahead of the holiday season, Amazon is readying another Prime shopping event. This year’s Prime Big Deal Days will take place on October 7th and 8th.
Among the brands featured in this year’s sale are Samsonite, LEGO, Beats, Fisher-Price, Samsung, Dyson, and many more. Additionally, the retailer promises deals on its Amazon Essentials line, including offering items from its new denim line for as low as $15. Other cited sales include up to 40% off “festive decor and entertaining essentials, ” 30% off snacks and pantry items, sweaters and fall outerwear starting at $10, and Halloween costumes and accessories for as low as $5.
Currently, an annual membership to Amazon Prime costs $139. A monthly option is also available for $14.99. You can sign up here – Amazon Prime.
What They’re Saying:
Announcing the shopping event, Amazon’s VP of North America Marketing and Prime Tech Carmen Nestares said, “Prime Big Deal Days kicks off the holiday shopping season with exclusive deals for Prime members on must-have items and popular gifts. We’re excited to help Prime members save money this year with some of Amazon’s best deals of the season so far, including amazing deals on an expanded selection of Holiday Amazon Exclusive items.”
Nestares added, “With Prime Big Deal Days, members can check off their holiday lists early and make the most of their holiday budget.”
My Thoughts:
It’s worth noting that, with Prime Big Deal Days falling a few days in the fourth quarter, the Discover It card’s 5% cashback Amazon bonus category will be in effect. That may give Discover cardholders an extra incentive to do at least some of their holiday shopping a bit early.
Incidentally, this will be the first Amazon shopping event since I became a “real” Prime member. For years, I’ve had access to Prime shipping (but not Prime Video or other features) thanks to an outdated program that allowed members to share this perk. However, earlier this month, Amazon officially discontinued that deal — but they did allow me to try the service for just $14.99 for my first year.
In any case, while Prime Big Deal Days may not be as hyped as the retailer’s Prime Days, it may be worth taking a look at what sales are available. On top of that, keep an eye on rival retailers to see if they might host their own sales in an attempt to counter the mighty Amazon.
