Hyundai Introduces New Rewards Program for Customers
Hyundai is giving its loyalty customers a new way to earn discounts and other savings.
About the Hyundai Rewards Program:
This week, Hyundai officially launched its Hyundai Rewards program. With this offer, Hyundai owners will be able to increase their Rewards status by completing various activities. As they move up, they’ll earn greater savings on new vehicles as well as Bluelink services.
There are currently three Hyundai Rewards tiers: Silver, Gold, and Blue. When customers join the program, they’ll automatically earn Silver status. At this level, they’ll enjoy 50% off Blueline Connected Care and Remote subscriptions as well as a $250 discount on a Hyundai Electric Vehicle.
As Hyundai notes, in contrast to other auto brands, its Rewards program is not points-based. Instead, members can reach the next level by completing various activities, such as scheduled maintenance, adding a Bluelink paid subscription, using a Digital Key, and more. Plus, when members purchase/lease a new vehicle or purchase a certified pre-owned Hyundai, they’ll automatically move up to the next rewards tier.
At the Gold tier, members can earn a $300 discount on Hyundai EVs or $250 on non-EVs. Meanwhile, those who reach the top-tier Blue level can get $400 off an EV or $300 off a non-EV. This tier also increases the Bluelink subscription discount to 60%.
While Hyundai Rewards status will reset each January, those who reach Gold or Blue status will be able to keep to their status through the entire next year. For example, if a member achieved Gold status on September 1st, 2025, their status wouldn’t reset until January 1st, 2027.
What They’re Saying:
Announcing the new program, Hyundai Motor America’s VP of aftersales and customer experience Michel Poirier said, “With the all-new Hyundai Rewards program, we are looking to enhance the Hyundai ownership experience for our loyal customers.”
Poirier added, “We wanted to create a program that felt interactive and made owning a Hyundai feel more rewarding. Hyundai Rewards is easy for customers to join and earn with actions they are already taking.”
My Thoughts:
In their announcement, Hyundai proudly declares that, unlike those other guys, their program isn’t points-based. I guess that might be a good thing overall, except that it leaves things quite ambiguous. Besides stating that you’ll automatically upgrade a full tier when buying a vehicle, it’s not clear how much closer the other activities put you toward moving up. Hopefully, that’s better laid out for actual customers, but it seems like an odd decision.
That quirk aside, if you are a Hyundai fan, the free program is likely worth joining. After all, a few hundred dollars is still a few hundred dollars even when you’re spending thousands. Just keep the actual value of the rewards in mind when striving for higher status and ensure that you’re not making unnecessary purchases just to move up the ranks.
