Capital One Venture Card Brings Back Stellar Welcome Offer

As consumers start to flesh out their 2026 travel plans, Capital One is bringing back an attractive offer for one of its flagship cards.

About the Limited-Time Capital One Venture Offer:

For a limited time, new Capital One Venture Rewards customers can not only earn a bounty of bonus miles but can also score a credit for Capital One Travel. Currently, new cardholders can earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on the card within their first three months from account opening. Additionally, they’ll receive a $250 credit for Capital One Travel that can be used during their first cardholder year. Together, these bonuses are valued at $1,000 in travel.

With the Capital One Miles, customers can cover any eligible travel purchase, with no blockout dates. This option will value miles at 1¢ each (50,000 miles can be redeemed for a $500 travel purchase). Alternatively, Capital One offers a stable of travel transfer partners, allowing cardholders to convert their miles into other loyalty currencies.

More on the Capital One Venture Card:

The Capital One Venture card is a simple and straightforward travel rewards option. Cardholders can earn 2x miles on all purchases, regardless of spending category. Additionally, customers earn 5x miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel.

As mentioned, Capital One Miles can be redeemed for any travel purchase or transferred to different partner brands. Beyond that, miles can also be used toward generic statement credits, used for Amazon purchases, redeemed for gift cards, and more. However, these other redemption options may value miles at less than the 1¢ per mile that the travel purchase feature offers.

It should be noted that the Capital One Venture card does carry a $95 annual fee. Meanwhile, those looking for a premium option may consider the Capital One Venture X, which also earns 2x miles on all purchases (as well as 5x on select Capital One Travel bookings) but adds in airport lounge access, a $300 per year Capital One Travel credit, and more. The Capital One Venture X has an annual fee of $395.

My Thoughts:

This is the exact offer that I took advantage of when applying for my Capital One Venture card. In other words, I think that this is a fantastic offer that’s well worth claiming if you can. From my perspective, you’re essentially getting $1,000 in value for a $95 annual fee and a modest minimum spending amount (which you’ll still earn 2x miles on as well).

The only downside with the Venture card is that, if you don’t plan to redeem your miles for travel or via transfer partners, then the value can be significantly diminished. For example, cashing out miles for regular statement credits cuts the value in half, amounting to 0.5¢ per mile. So, keep that in mind — but, otherwise, this is one offer I’d highly recommend.

Since taking an interest in personal finance, one site I’ve come across again and again is Rakuten, formerly Ebates. Its popularity has endured even with the odd Rakuten re-branding and the platform remains one of my most-used money-saving tools. Since joining Rakuten / Ebates some...

Ever since I started taking an interest in the FinTech sector, one company whose name I’ve seen pop up over and over again is SoFi.
