Bilt Offering Lyft Credit to Members in July Rent Day Promotion

Rent Day is once again approaching — and Bilt has unveiled its latest offer. This time around, the company has called upon its partner Lyft to bring members and cardholders a special perk.

About the offer:

Bilt has announced a special Lyft bonus to celebrate July’s Rent Day. Through July 1st, regular Bilt Members can earn a $10 credit while Bilt Mastercard customers can claim a $20 credit. On top of that, those who take a Lyft ride on Rent Day itself can earn an additional $5 credit. To get started with this offer, customers can open the Bilt app and look for the deal under the Rent Day tab.

According to Bilt’s blog post, these initial credits can take up to 72 days to display, while the bonus $5 may take up to 5 days to show up. When they do arrive, they’ll be found under Lyft Pass in the Lyft app’s Payments section rather than under Lyft Cash. Also of note, ride credits will expire in 90 days. Lyft does list the expiration date when customers view their Bilt Rent Day credit.

In order to claim these credits, Bilt customers will need to link their Lyft account. However, those who have already done so can still activate the credit by simply confirming their linked account.

This latest Rent Day promotion builds upon the partnership that Bilt and Lyft first announced earlier this year. As revealed in March, Bilt members who link their Lyft account can earn 2x Bilt Points on rides while those with the Bilt Mastercard can also earn 3x points when they pay with their Bilt card, giving them a total of 5x points (2x from the account link and 3x from the card payment). However, the 2x is only valid if customers make it their loyalty selection, meaning they’ll need to forgo other offers from Hilton, Alaska, and Delta.

About Rent Day:

Launched in October 2022, Bilt’s Rent Day promotions have brought a variety of offers to members and cardholders — ranging from status match challenges to transfer bonuses and more. Additionally, each Rent Day, Bilt Mastercard users can earn double points on all of their purchases except for rent. This means that cardholders can earn 6x points on dining, 4x points on select travel, and 2x points on all non-rent purchases on the first of each month.

My thoughts:

At the risk of sounding redundant, Bilt has once again delivered with their latest Rent Day offer. While the Lyft partnership itself was interesting when announced back in March, this bonus credit is a welcome gift. With that said, looking at my calendar, I’m not 100% sure I’ll be able to use this credit within the next 90 days before it expires — but that didn’t stop me from claiming it just in case.

All in all, July’s Rent Day offer is just another reason why the Bilt Mastercard remains one of the most intriguing credit card products on the market right now.
