Bilt Rewards Announces Partnership with Lyft, New Rewards

A new perk has popped up for Bilt customers who regularly take rideshares. This week, Bilt Rewards announced a partnership with Lyft that will allow Bilt members to earn rewards on rides. First, Bilt loyalty members can now link their account to Lyft and earn 2x Bilt points on Lyft rideshare purchases. Additionally, Bilt Mastercard customers can earn up to a total of 5x points on rides when they link their Bilt account and pay with their Bilt card.

To get started, users can open the Lyft app, tap the three-line button in the upper left, select “Rewards,” scroll to “Loyalty Rewards” and “Change Partner,” choose Bilt Rewards, and follow the instructions to complete the linking process. Note that Lyft only allows customers to select one loyalty account at a time. As a result, riders will need to choose between the Bilt benefit and other offerings from Delta, Hilton, and Alaska Airlines.

The new Lyft perk joins a growing list of benefits offered by the Bilt Mastercard. Currently, cardholders can earn 3x on dining, 2x on select travel purchases, and 1x on all other purchases. Plus, in what’s been the card’s signature perk, cardholders can earn 1x points on rent payments (up to 50,000 points per calendar year), with the card also offering a way for customers to pay rent with their card without incurring credit card fees. Beyond that, Bilt has announced partnerships with multiple travel brands, allowing members to transfer earned points to a variety of travel programs and has also worked with Expedia to launch a travel portal.

Bilt Rewards

Announcing the new partnership and rewards integration, Bilt Rewards Founder and CEO Ankur Jain stated, “Bilt is focused on rewarding people on their biggest life expenses, like rent. Through our partnership with Lyft, we can now take transportation, another major everyday cost for our members, and turn that into a rewarding experience that gets members a step closer to booking their next vacation, workout class, or even putting a down payment on a home. We’re excited to unlock this benefit for Bilt members.”

Lyft’s Chief Business Officer Zach Greenberger said, “Partnering with Bilt Rewards gives us the opportunity to elevate the transportation experience for members, by giving them a chance to earn additional points every time they complete a ride through the Lyft app. Strategic partnerships like this give riders even more reasons to choose Lyft for their transportation needs, offering them the best value for their money and more ways to earn and maximize their rewards.”

Overall, the addition of this Lyft benefit continues Bilt’s streak of adding to its already interesting credit card offering. However, the only downside here is that customers will need to choose between earning Bilt points on rides and earning other currencies (that’s thanks to an update Lyft made to its platform in 2021 that disallowed “double dipping”). Despite this, whether you’re a Bilt Rewards customer or Bilt Mastercard holder, you may want to link your Lyft account now in order to take advantage of this new benefit.
