Disney Visa Credit Cards from Chase Offering Enhanced Bonuses
Ahead of the summer travel season, Chase’s pair of Disney co-branded credit cards are getting elevated welcome offers.
About the Current Disney Visa Offers:
For a limited time, new Disney Visa Card and Disney Premier Visa Card cardholders can earn an increased bonus.
First, with the Disney Visa Card, new cardholders can earn a $200 statement credit after spending at least $500 on the card within their first three months. That’s up from the regular $150 offer.
Meanwhile, those applying for the Disney Premier Visa can earn a $400 statement credit after making at least $1,000 in purchases on the card within their first three months from account opening. Normally, this welcome bonus is $300.
About the Disney Visa Card and Disney Premier Visa Card:
Beyond the welcome bonuses, both the Disney Visa and Disney Premier Visa offer rewards and perks for Disney fans.
Starting with the Disney Visa, the card earns 1% in Disney Rewards on all purchases. These rewards can then be redeemed for domestic Disney Parks purchases, Disney Cruise Line purchases, movies, DisneyStore.com shopping, and more. Plus, cardholders can take advantage of special Disney Parks and Resorts offers, exclusive in-park character photo opportunities, DisneyStore.com discounts, and more. The Disney Visa card has no annual fee.
As for the Disney Premier Visa, it includes all of those same benefits but increases the reward levels. For one, Disney Premier cardholders can earn 5% in Disney Reward Dollars on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ subscriptions (made directly with the streaming services). Additionally, the card earns 2% in rewards at gas stations, 2% at grocery stores, 2% at restaurants, and 2% at most Disney locations in the United States. All other purchases earn 1% in rewards.
One redemption option exclusive to Disney Premier card customers is Pay Yourself Back for airfare. Cardholders can use their earned rewards for a statement credit toward airline purchases made directly with airlines. This is valid for any airline with no blackouts.
Currently, the Disney Premier Visa has an annual fee of $49.
Another fun aspect of these cards is the ability for customers to choose from more than a dozen designs. These include Mickey & Friends, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella Castles, Marvel superheroes, Grogu, and more.
My Thoughts:
Speaking as a big Disney fan, even with these enhanced bonus offers, I’m not sure that the Disney Visa nor the Disney Premier Visa are really worth it. While there are some perks such as potential discounts and the exclusive character meet and greet, I still think most people are better off picking up more rewarding and competitive cards and then earmarking those rewards for Disney trips (if that’s what they want to do).
That said, if you are someone who will make use of the special perks these cards offer, then these increased bonuses do give you a great excuse to get either card before your summer travels to the Disney Parks.
