Bank of America Unveils Third Annual “More Rewards Day”
Next month, for one day only, Bank of America credit card customers will once again be able to earn bonus rewards.
About More Rewards Day:
Bank of America is bringing back its More Rewards Day for 2024. This year’s celebration will take place on Thursday, November 7th. As they have for the past two years of events, customers will be able to earn bonus cashback, points, or miles on all purchases made on their BofA credit cards on this day.
On More Rewards Day, cashback customers can earn an additional 2% cash back on purchases while those with points or miles-accruing cards can earn an additional 2 points or 2 miles per dollar spent. These rewards are on top of any points, miles, or cashback customers already earn with their cards. For example, those with the Customized Cash Rewards card could earn 3% back on all purchases made on November 7th — or a total of 4% on grocery store and wholesale club purchases and 5% back on purchases in their selected cashback category.
This offer not only applies to Bank of America’s core line up of credit cards but also its co-branded cards. This includes cards from Allegiant, Royal Caribbean, Sandals, Spirit, Alaska Airlines, Air France, and many more.
Of note, these More Rewards Day bonuses will only apply to the first $2,500 in eligible spending. This means that cashback cards can earn a maximum bonus of $50 from this promotion while points and miles cards can earn up to 5,000 bonus points/miles.
Eligible cardholders will not need to register or activate this special offer. Instead, qualifying transitions made on November 7th will automatically earn the bonus.
My thoughts:
As I noted last year when this promotion came around, More Rewards Day reminds me a bit of Bilt’s Rent Day offer. With that deal, on the first of each month, Bilt Mastercard customers can earn double points on nearly all non-rent purchases (equating to 6x on dining, 4x on select travel, and 2x on everything else except rent or tax payments). Of course, the difference here is that Bilt’s offer is monthly whereas More Rewards Day comes around but once a year.
That said, this is a no-brainer win for Bank of America card customers. Plus, I’m continually surprised that the bank extends this promotion to co-branded cards as well. In fact, this coupled with the fact that I just booked yet another flight on Allegiant makes me seriously question why I haven’t just applied for the Allegiant Allways Rewards card already!
The bottom line is that, if you’re a Bank of America credit cardholder, it may be worth holding off on some non-essential but planned purchases until November 7th in order to make the most of this offer.
