Vacation Homes Coming to The Edit by Chase Travel Program

Chase is expanding The Edit beyond hotels, creating a new opportunity for cardholders to use a key credit.

About The Edit by Chase Travel’s Vacation Homes Expansion:

The Edit — Chase’s curated collections of hotels and resorts — is set to add a new category: vacation homes. Starting January 1st, more than 10,000 vacation homes will be added to the program, joining the more than 1,500 luxury hotel/resort properties that are already offered as part of the collection. What’s more, cardholders will enjoy exclusive benefits at these homes.

When eligible cardmembers book a vacation home via The Edit by Chase Travel, they can take advantage of a $150 in-stay credit. According to Chase, these credits can be used for massages, private chefs, airport pickup, and more. Cardmembers will also enjoy perks such as early check-in and late checkout (based on availability). Meanwhile, customers booking The Edit hotels or resorts can continue to enjoy a different set of benefits including daily breakfast for two, a $100 property credit, and more.

Vacation homes featured on The Edit will also be eligible for cardholder credits. For example, the Chase Sapphire Reserve earns up to $500 in credits annually for The Edit bookings. This offer is divided into two $250 credits. Sapphire Reserve customers also earn 8x on The Edit bookings — although purchases that qualify for the credit will not earn points.

One key difference between vacation homes and hotels/resorts booked via The Edit is the number of nights required. While cardholders can use their The Edit credit for prepaid hotel stays of at least two nights, vacation homes booked on the service will require a four-night minimum stay.

What They’re Saying:

Discussing this update to The Edit, Chase Travel CEO Jason Wynn remarked, “With travel bookings up 14% year over year, early signs at Chase Travel show that travel demand remains resilient heading into 2027. From inspiring cardmembers with our 27 Trips list to expanding The Edit with more than 10,000 highly curated vacation homes, we’re making it easier to discover and book meaningful trips, with more choice, premium benefits, and the flexibility to use Ultimate Rewards points, all through Chase Travel.

My Thoughts:

When The Edit by Chase Travel was first announced, the most obvious comparison for the program was American Express’s Fine Hotels & Resorts program. So, considering that Amex just announced a partnership with Airbnb and expanded its Platinum Card Lodging Credit to include Airbnb Luxe properties, it’s no surprise that Chase would follow up with a similar move.

As for the usability, the four-night minimum stay means that the $250 The Edit credits that come with the Chase Sapphire Preferred are unlikely to go very far. The same can be said of the nebulous $150 in-stay credit, as I can’t imagine that private chefs come cheap.

Of course, there could be some reasonably-priced options and sweet spots that present themselves once these properties go live. Also, increasing the number of The Edit options from around 1,500 to more than 10,000 is surely a good thing for cardholders. So, we’ll see what happens when the new year rolls around.
