Bilt Teams Up with GoPuff to Launch Home Delivery Feature
Bilt is rolling out a Home Delivery feature, allowing members to order products to their doorstep in as little as 15 minutes.
About Bilt Home Delivery:
The Bilt ecosystem is expanding once again. Starting today, members will notice a Bilt Home Delivery option in the Bilt app. Powered by GoPuff, this service allows customers to order items from nearby retailers and have them delivered.
In the app, members can search through available grocery, pharmacy, and other household items. Additionally, Bilt has crafted a collection of curated bundles with specific themes. Some current bundle examples include:
- Household Restock
- Study Fuel
- Hangover Helper
- Movie Night
- Sick Day Essentials
- Fuel Up
- Move-In Essentials
Members can place their orders right from the Bilt app. Moreover, customres can pay with a linked card, choose to redeem Bilt Points toward the entire order balance, or split payment. When redeeming points, they’ll be valued at 0.7¢. For example, one Movie Night bundle is priced at $31.04 or 4,432 Bilt Points.
What They’re Saying:
In a blog post announcing this partnership, Bilt also noted the possibilities that this new feature has for properties and retailers. They write, “This isn’t just another delivery service. It’s Bilt connecting where you live with the places you love through one unified loyalty ecosystem. For the first time, property managers and local merchants will be able to use the Bilt platform to deliver real, tangible moments of appreciation right to your door sourced from Gopuff’s extensive catalog.”
My Thoughts:
The timing of this latest announcement from Bilt is funny to me for a couple of reasons. First, it was only yesterday that the Mesa Homeowners Card unveiled a new Instacart+ perk for members. This GoPuff integration with Bilt us quite different from that — but there are definitely some similarities between the two sets of companies.
As for the other reason I find this humorous, there was a leak a couple of weeks ago that suggested Bilt and Rakuten were working on something together. Thus, I’ve been keeping an eye out for that update. Yet, there have since been three other Bilt news items that have come out while we wait for that shoe to drop (a similar thing happened the last time I was holding out for a piece of Bilt news to become official).
Anyway, while I think this is an interesting idea, it’s not one I plan on taking advantage of. That’s only partially because the service isn’t yet available in my area. I’ll also note that the 0.7¢ redemption rate on points is not very good and so I wouldn’t recommend that aspect of this offer either.
