Chase Freedom Reveals Q2 2026 5% Bonus Categories

Updated on March 16, 2025

Chase has announced its second quarter 2026 bonus category picks, including another charity partner option.

About the Q2 2026 5% Bonus Categories for Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex

Officially, Chase Freedom and Freedom Flex cardholders will have three bonus categories to take advantage of during the second quarter of the year — although there’s an extra category embedded in one pick. From April 1st through June 30th, cardholders can earn bonuses on Chase Travel bookings,  donations to Feeding America, and purchases from Amazon.

Starting with the lattermost category, not only can customers eaern 5% back on purchases from Amazon.com, but can also earn that rate on purchases at Whole Foods. That includes both in-store and online purchases. Also included are Amazon digital downloads, Amazon.com gift cards, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Prime subscriptions, and items sold by third-party merchants through Amazon. However, transactions made using Amazon Pay, purchases from international Amazon stores, Whole Foods purchases made through third parties (such as Instacart), and purchases from some third-party vendors at Whole Foods locations may not qualify.

Next, cardholders can earn a bonus on bookings made via Chase Travel. While Chase Freedom members can earn 5% back from this offer, since the Freedom Flex already earns 5% back on Chase Travel purchases, members can earn a total of 9% back (1% base + 4% bonus + another 4% bonus) in this category. Eligible prepaid travel purchases include airline tickets, hotels, cruises, car rentals, activities, and tours. Note that any portion of your purchase paid for using points will not qualify. Those who wish to book by phone instead of using the ChaseTravel.com portal can do so by calling the number on the back of their credit card.

Lastly, cardholders can earn 5% back when donating to Feeding America. To ensure that this bonus is applied, Chase encourages members to donate at FeedingAmerica.org/Chase. Unfortunately, due to how transactions are processed, donations made via local chapters may not be eligible.

As always, bonuses are capped at a total of $1,500 in combined bonus category spending per quarter. Additionally, members will need to activate this offer by visiting ChaseBonus.com. Activation will be available through June 14, 2026.

My Thoughts:

It would appear as though Chase is making charity partners a fixture of its bonus categories this year, with the American Heart Association being featured during Q1 and now Feeding America in Q2. I’m curious to see if this continues and, if so, which organizations are on deck.

As for the other selections, the Chase Travel stacking bonus is well-timed for those booking summer or fall travel. Of course, while up to 9% back is fantastic (and one booking could easily max out your quarterly bonus), it’s always advisable to compare travel portal pricing to other options to ensure you’re getting a good deal.

Finally, Amazon is always an easy option for many shoppers — and the inclusion of Whole Foods makes it even simpler. All in all, this should be a solid quarter for Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Flex cardholders.

2025 SoFi Checking and Savings Review

Ever since I started taking an interest in the FinTech sector, one company whose name I’ve seen pop up over and over again is SoFi. The most interesting development in my mind is SoFi’s acquisition of Golden Pacific...
