Chase Sapphire Preferred Brings Back 100,000-Point Offer

One of the most anticipated credit card welcome bonuses has returned.

About the Offer:

Chase has brought back its much-hyped 100,000-point offer for the popular Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Currently, new cardholders can earn 100,000 bonus Chase Ultimate Rewards points after spending at least $5,000 on the card within three months of account opening. Notably, this spending requirement is up from the $4,000 minimum seen the last time this particular offer was featured.

This 100K deal is significantly higher than the Sapphire Preferred’s standard 60,000-point offer. In terms of value, since Sapphire Preferred customers can redeem Ultimate Rewards points for a value of 1.25¢ each, this bonus is worth up to $1,250 in travel.

About the Chase Sapphire Preferred:

The Chase Sapphire Preferred is a popular travel rewards credit card for beginners and experts alike. First, the card earns 5x points on Chase Travel hotel and rental car bookings. Additionally, it earns 3x points on dining and 2x points on all travel purchases. Non-category purchases earn 1x. Plus, as mentioned, Sapphire Preferred customers enjoy 25% more value when redeeming points via Chase Travel.

In terms of other perks, each cardholder anniversary year, customers receive a $50 Chase Travel Hotel credit. Renewing customers can also receive a 10% point bonus each anniversary year. The Chase Sapphire Preferred also has renowned travel protection perks, including primary Auto Rental Coverage, which provides reimbursement of up to $60,000 for theft and collision damage for most rental vehicles (excluding exotic and other models with MSRPs above $125,000).

Note that the Chase Sapphire Preferred does carry a $95 annual fee and this is not waived for the first year.

My Thoughts:

I was lucky enough to take advantage of this 100K-point offer back in 2021. In fact, that was before the card underwent a revamp, which I think was positive overall. Now that the deal is here again, I’d definitely recommend jumping on it if possible.

For a $95 annual fee, the $1,250+ in value you get from the intro bonus is outstanding. That said, the only downside is the $5,000 minimum spending requirement, which could be a bit steep for some people to hit in just three months. Other than that, though, this Chase Sapphire Preferred offer is a winner.

By the way, to be notified about deal like these as well as learning how to get the most value out of the credit card rewards you earn, I’d highly recommend subscribing to the free Daily Drop newsletter — as that’s how I was first notified about this big news.
