Walmart+ Offering Discounted Plan Ahead of Black Friday Sales

For a limited time, customers can save 50% off a Walmart+ membership.

About the Walmart+ Discount:

With the holiday shopping season now just around the corner, Walmart is offering a big discount on its Walmart+ membership. While an annual subscription to the service typically costs $98, the retailer is discounting this fee to $49. This offer is valid through December 2nd, 2025 and is not available to current annual subscribers. Alternatively, new members can elect to decline this offer and activate a 30-day free trial instead.

Notably, those who do take advantage of this deal will be able to get early access to Walmart’s upcoming “Black Friday” deals, which kick off on November 13th. Walmart+ members enjoy a five-hour head start, accessing deals starting at 7 p.m. Eastern on November 12th.

More Walmart+ Perks:

Often thought of as Walmart’s answer to Amazon Prime, Walmart+ offers free shipping from Walmart.com with no order minimum as well as free local delivery on orders over $35. While those core perks have been part of the service since day one, the retailer has continuously added new perks to the membership since launch. For example, a key benefit is that members can save 10¢ per gallon at Walmart, Exxon, Mobil, and Murphy gas stations (or claim member-priced gas at Sam’s Club).

One recent update to Walmart+ involves video streaming. Now, customers can select between a complimentary Paramount+ Essential or Peacock Premium plan. Elsewhere, Walmart+ members enjoy 25% off digital orders at Burger King as well as a free Whopper with any purchase every three months.

Lastly, a feature exclusive to Walmart+ is Scan & Go. Using this option, members can ship in-store and add items to their cart using the Walmart app. Then, they can scan the provided barcode at checkout and complete the transaction on their phone. Select Walmart locations may also offer dedicated Scan & Go self-checkout lanes.

My Thoughts:

Even though I have Walmart+ for “free” thanks to my American Express Platinum card, I’ve really come to appreciate the service. Beyond the free shipping and delivery perks, I truly love the Scan & Go feature I have access to as a member. Plus, having Paramount+ (or Peacock) through the service is another nice benefit.

All of this is to say that, at $49, I think that a Walmart+ membership could be a good deal for a lot of people. That’s especially true if you intend to hit their sales pretty hard. Additionally, if you already have Paramount+ or Peacock, you could actually save money by canceling your direct subscription and getting it via Walmart+ at this discounted rate instead. Thus, I’d recommend at least looking into this offer before it expires next month.
