Walmart+ Introduces New Burger King Perk for Members

Walmart is bringing a new perk to its paid membership program via an intriguing partnership.

About the new benefit:

This week, Walmart and Burger King announced a new benefit for Walmart+. Now, Walmart+ members can get 25% off orders they place via the BK App or BK.com. What’s more, this discount can be used up to once per day.

In addition to the everyday perk, starting in September, BK will add another offer for Walmart+ customers. Soon, members will also be able to claim a free Whopper (with any purchase) once every three months.

For each of these deals, Walmart+ users must link their membership to their Burger King Royal Perks account. Those who don’t already have Royal Perks can create an account for free. After linking, customers can visit the Offers tab on the BK app or site, choose their order location, select their items, and add the offer to their cart to receive their discount.

About other Walmart+ features:

The new Burger King benefit joins a stable of other perks Walmart+ members currently enjoy. First, Walmart+ customers can get free shipping on any size order from Walmart.com or free delivery from local stores on orders over $35. Plus, when shopping in-store, Walmart+ subscribers can utilize the retailer’s Scan & Go feature.

As for other Walmart+ features, members can save 10¢ per gallon at Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, and Murphy gas stations. Additionally, the membership now also includes a Paramount+ Essential plan subscription — which can be upgraded for an additional fee.

Currently, Walmart+ costs $12.95 per month or $98 per year. Notably, those with the American Express Platinum Card can also get a statement credit for up to $12.95 per month towards the purchase of a Walmart+ subscription.

What they’re saying:

Announcing the new perk, SVP and GM of Walmart+ Venessa Yates said, “The inclusion of a Burger King benefit in our Walmart+ membership portfolio is exciting. We consistently strive to offer benefits that focus on our members, aligning with our commitment to deliver undeniable value and convenience. We’re confident our members will welcome the additional savings, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with a trusted brand like Burger King to offer this benefit.”

My thoughts:

I honestly don’t remember the last time I ate at Burger King. However, as a Walmart+ member (via my Amex Platinum Card), I’m always in favor of new benefits coming to the service. On top of that, I do think it’s worth noting again that Walmart+ has yet to raise its prices nearly four years after it launched. Perhaps I have now just jinxed it, but I’m impressed that the retailer has managed to consistently improve this subscription product over the years. Of course, I’m not sure how many people will be swayed by 25% off BK, but it is a nice benefit for those who may already have or planned on getting Walmart+.

2025 SoFi Checking and Savings Review

Ever since I started taking an interest in the FinTech sector, one company whose name I’ve seen pop up over and over again is SoFi. The most interesting development in my mind is SoFi’s acquisition of Golden Pacific...
