SBA and Score Announce Small Business Week Virtual Summit
With National Small Business Week quickly approaching, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and SCORE have announced a virtual summit event.
About the event:
On April 30th and May 1st, the SBA and SCORE will co-host the 2024 National Small Business Week Virtual Summit. The special event will feature educational webinars with actionable insights, business resources, networking opportunities, a virtual exhibitor hall, and more. Additionally, as part of the programming, SCORE and the SBA will recognize the 2024 National Small Business Week award winners — which include businesses from each state.
Access to the National Small Business Week Virtual Summit is free. However, registration is required in order to unlock the event’s “full benefits.” Small business owners can register and view the full itinerary on the SCORE site.
Among the topics that will be covered during the event sessions are harnessing AI tools, leveraging e-commerce, navigating cash flow, and more. Each of these sessions is scheduled to run for 45 to 60 minutes with programming offered between 8 a.m. PT/11 a.m. ET and 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET on both days. Sponsorships for these sessions come from the likes of Visa, Square, Chase for Business, Amazon, and others.
What they’re saying:
Announcing the event, SCORE CEO Bridget Weston said, “National Small Business Week is a valuable opportunity for entrepreneurs to hear from industry experts, connect with other small business owners, and tap into expert advice from SCORE mentors. We encourage entrepreneurs to take advantage of this free event and learn more about the resources available to help their small businesses launch, grow, and thrive.”
Additionally, SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman noted, “Our 2024 National Small Business Week award winners exemplify excellence, innovation, and commitment, and the SBA is proud to showcase their incredible achievements.” Guzman continued, “As we gear up for National Small Business Week, the SBA is proud to recognize some of the leaders who are part of and who have paved the way for today’s historic Small Business Boom. Entrepreneurs provide invaluable contributions to their communities, our national economy, and our democracy, and we invite all of America to join us in celebrating our nation’s small business owners.”
My thoughts:
The 2024 National Small Business Week Virtual Summit sounds like a great opportunity for business owners to gain new insights and potentially network with B2B vendors and other entrepreneurs. Plus, the virtual event is free, making it easily accessible. That said, each session of the programming may not appeal to all business owners, so it’s probably worth taking a peek at the agenda so you know what particular events you want to attend.
