Robinhood Set for Second Annual HOOD Summit Next Month
The investment platform Robinhood is preparing for another HOOD Summit — and will launch special offers leading up to the event.
About HOOD Summit and HOOD Month:
Recently, Robinhood announced plans for a sequel edition of its HOOD Summit. This year’s event will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 9th and 10th. At the conference, those in attendance will be able to hear from speakers including Robinhood executives as well as other industry professionals and commentators.
The highlight of the HOOD Summit will be the keynote event, taking place at the F1 Grand Prix Plaza. At 5:30 p.m. Pacific on September 9th, Robinhood chairman and CEO Vlad Tenev will take the stage to reveal new products aimed at active traders. This keynote will also stream live on social media, the Robinhood site, and in the app.
Leading up to the Summit, Robinhood will celebrate HOOD Month. As part of this promotion, the platform promises a series of limited-time offers. The first of these will launch on Tuesday, August 19th, with new deals coming each subsequent week. Each of these offers will help customers “get more out of the assets you bring to Robinhood as you level up your trading portfolio,” and will be available through September 15th.
At last year’s inaugural HOOD Summit, Robinhood unveiled a number of new features, including its Robinhood Legend platform, futures trading, index options, and more. To coincide with these announcements, the company also offered a 3% IRA transfer bonus for Gold members alongside other limited-time bonus deals.
My Thoughts:
As a long-term investor, I doubt I’ll have much use for these latest features Robinhood is set to unveil at HOOD Summit. Of course, they could always throw in some other features that might be more applicable — and I’m always interested to hear what the platform is up to even if I don’t personally plan on using the tools they roll out.
Speaking of rollouts, I really hope that Robinhood announces that they’re sending Gold Card invites to more users. It’s now been nearly 18 months that I’ve been on the waitlist for the product (despite joining Robinhood Gold with the main intention of getting the card). Alas, I’m not holding my breath at this point.
Elsewhere, I am also excited to see what special offers Robinhood is planning. Based on the description, I’m guessing they’ll be similar to past transfer deals, but we’ll have to wait and see. Plus, with the first of these expected to debut next week, we won’t even have to be too patient to find out. In other words, stay tuned.
