Marriott Bonvoy Credit Cards Offering Increased Welcome Bonuses

For a limited time, new cardholders can claim enhanced welcome bonuses on two of Marriott Bonvoy’s co-branded credit cards.

About the Marriott Bonvoy Welcome Bonuses:

Just in time for the Spring Break and summer travel seasons, Marriott Bonvoy is offering increased welcome offers on a pair of its cards.

Starting with the top-tier Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card, new cardholders can currently earn 200,000 bonus points after spending at least $6,000 in purchases within their first 6 months. With the $650 annual fee Brilliant card, members can enjoy complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status, earn up to 21x points on Marriott Bonvoy purchases (6x from the card plus 10x points for being a Marriott Bonvoy member and 5x for being Platinum status), and more. Plus, each renewal year, cardholders receive a Free Night Certificate worth up to 85,000 points.

Next, the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card is currently offering up to 175,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in purchases within the first 6 months. This $250 annual fee option features complimentary Gold Elite status, 18.5x on Marriott Bonvoy purchases (6x from the card plus 10x points for being a Marriott Bonvoy member and 2.5x for being Platinum status), 4x points at restaurants worldwide and at U.S. supermarkets (up to $15,000 in combined purchases at restaurants and U.S. supermarkets per calendar year), and more. As for the Free Night Certificate cardholders earn, the Bevy’s is worth up to 50,000. However, cardholders will need to spend at least $15,000 on the card in a calendar year to year that certifcate.

Both the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant and Marriott Bonvoy Bevy bonus offers end on May 13th, 2026.

Along with these special offers, Marriott Bonvoy has announced a positive change related to its Free Night Certificates. Now, customers can supplement their certificates with up to 25,000 points for bookings. This marks an increase over the previous 15,000-point “top off” limit.

My Thoughts:

For comparison, when Marriott Bonvoy ran special offers on the Bevy and Brilliant cards last summer, the offers were 155,000 and 185,000, respectively — and those were the best-ever offers at the time. Moreover, those previous offers required the same amount of spending. In other words, these are pretty great deals if you’re in the market for either card.

I also want to shout out Marriott for adjusting the Free Night Certificate top-off option. Obviously, having the ability to apply additional points to your certificate is a good thing as it gives cardholders greater flexibility. Of course, it could also mean that yet another Bonvoy point devaluation is incoming — but let’s not think about that right now.

2025 SoFi Checking and Savings Review

Ever since I started taking an interest in the FinTech sector, one company whose name I’ve seen pop up over and over again is SoFi. That was later sent into overdrive as the company has not only become a household name thanks to its stadium naming rights deal but also because of the company’s continued product expansions. The most interesting development in my mind is SoFi’s acquisition of Golden Pacific...
