JetBlue to Open First Lounge Location at JFK Later This Month

A new era for JetBlue is about to begin as the carrier prepares to open its first lounge location.

About JetBlue BlueHouse at JFK:

Dubbed the BlueHouse, JetBlue’s first-ever airport lounge is nearly ready to begin welcoming guests. The inaugural location will debut at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on December 18th in Terminal 5.

The JFK BlueHouse location is said to be inspired by the style of New York apartments — but, at 9,000 square feet, the two-level lounge is likely larger than most. In addition to its Art Deco design, the space will also include a collection of local art as well as nods to JetBlue history.

Inside the lounge, fresh grab-and-go favorites will be offered throughout the day. Meanwhile, espresso beverages crafted by Joe Coffee as well as signature cocktails and wine selections from The Greats of Craft and Please Don’t Tell will be available.

Entry to the BlueHouse is complimentary for Mosaic 4 members, JetBlue Premier cardholders, and those flying JetBlue Mint on transatlantic routes. Mosaic 4 and JetBlue Premier customers can also bring one guest for free (with additional guest entries costing $39 each), while Mint flyers will need to pay $39 for any guest. Beyond that, starting in February 2026, limited access passes for BlueHouse will be made available to other Mosaic members, JetBlue Plus cardmembers, and those flying Mint on non-transatlantic routes. Annual BlueHouse memberships will also be launched.

Following the debut in JFK, the next BlueHouse location is slated to open in Terminal C of Boston Logan International Airport in 2026.

More on the JetBlue Premier Card:

In anticipation of this new lounge location, JetBlue launched the Premier card in January of this year. Issued by Barclays, this $499 annual fee card joined the no-annual-fee JetBlue card and the $99 annual fee JetBlue Plus card.

While the primary perk of the Premier card is the complimentary access to BlueHouse and other airport lounges via Priority Pass Select, cardholders can also enjoy up to $300 per year in statement credits for Paisly travel purchases (a $50 credit for each purchase of $250 or more, up to six time per calendar year), Group A priority boarding for themselves and up to four eleigible travel companison, first checked bag free, and a 50% discount on in-flight food and drink. Cardholders can also earn 6x points on JetBlue and Paisly purchases, 2x at restaurants, 2x at eligible grocery stores, and 1x on all other purchases.

What They’re Saying:

Discussing the first BlueHouse location, JetBlue president Marty St. George said, “BlueHouse helps make our flagship terminal feel more like home. It’s warm, comfortable, and elevated in a way that’s distinctly JetBlue, with the hospitality and thoughtful amenities our customers have been asking for.”

St. George added, “As our first lounge, it represents an exciting milestone in our JetForward journey as we focus on bringing affordable, premium experiences from the aircraft to the airport.”

My Thoughts:

This first JetBlue lounge looks nice enough, but doesn’t appear to be on the level of Amex Centurion or Delta SkyClub locations. Of course, it’s hard to judge that simply from photos, so I’ll reserve judgment.

Unfortunately, though, looking at the JetBlue Premier card again only reminds me how underwhelming I find it to be. Now that the first BlueHouse is (nearly) open, it may be slightly more attractive for those who frequent JFK. Still, it’s not one I’d recommend overall.

With this first location now ready, I do look forward to seeing what other BlueHouse locations have to offer as the airport lounge wars rage on.
