Capital One Issues “Last Call” for 100k Miles Venture Card Offer
With travel making a big comeback this summer, one of the best travel card deals on the market is nearing its end. Capital One has announced that it’s “last call” for the Venture card welcome bonus that could net new cardholders up to 100,000 miles.
Capital One’s lucrative but limited-time offer allows new Capital One Venture cardholders to earn up to 100,000 bonus miles. To earn this full bonus, cardholders will need to make $20,000 in purchases on their card within their first 12 months. If that’s out of reach, they can still earn 50,000 bonus miles when they spend $3,000 in purchases on the card in their first three months. With these bonuses, cardholders could earn $1,000 or $500 in free travel respectively. However, it should be noted that the Venture card does carry a $95 annual fee that is not waived for the first year.
Beyond this big bonus, the Capital One Venture card allows customers to earn 2 miles per dollar spent on any purchase they make. There’s no cap on the number of miles that cardholders can earn from purchases and earned miles do not expire as long as the account remains open. Miles can then be redeemed for any travel purchase or transferred to select travel partners. In fact, back in April, Capital One expanded its transfer partner roster to include British Airways, Turkish Airlines, TAP Portugal, and Choice Hotels while improving transfer rates for select other partners.
Speaking of Capital One expanding its travel footprint, the card issuer has announced plans to open its own branded airport lounges. The first of these lounges is set to open at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport later this year followed by another at Washington Dulles International Airport next year. Additionally, just this past week, Capital One revealed plans for a Denver International Airport lounge also set to open in 2022. According to the company, each of these airport lounges will feature high-speed WiFi, grab-and-go foods as well as dining stations, relaxation rooms, shower suites, and much more. While details on entry are sparse at this time, Capital One customers will apparently be eligible for special pricing depending on which card(s) they have.
Overall, the Capital One Venture card could be a great option for travelers who want a simple setup with near-endless flexibility. Plus, with a low annual fee of just $95, the card stands as an entry-level pick for those intimidated by more premium annual fees. On top of that, the current welcome bonus worth as much as 100,000 bonus miles makes now the perfect time to add the Venture card to your wallet before this deal disappears.
