Bilt Brings Back British Airways Bonus for May 2026 Rent Day

For the May 2026 edition of Rent Day, Bilt is once again turning to British Airways for a transfer bonus.

About the British Airways Transfer Bonus

British Airways’ Avios loyalty program is the star of Bilt’s Rent Day next month. On May 1st, members can earn up to 100% bonus when transferring Bilt Points to Avios. Per usual, the size of the bonus offered will depend on the member’s Bilt status:

  • Blue (Entry Level): 40%
  • Silver: 50%
  • Gold: 60%
  • Platinum: 75%

On top of that, members can upgrade one status tier for $150 Bilt Cash. That means that those with Platinum status can actually unlock a 100% bonus with this option.

Since Bilt Points typically convert to British Airways Avios at a rate of 1:1, this bonus means that those with Blue status can earn a rate of 1:1.4 while those with Platinum can earn 1:1.75 — or 1:2 with a Bilt Cash tier upgrade.

As noted, this isn’t the first time Bilt has offered a Rent Day transfer bonus for British Airways. Most recently, the airline was featured is part of a December 2025 transfer bonus. However, that round featured notably higher percentages, starting at 50% for Blue and going all the way up to 100% for Platinum. This same range was also offered as part of the November 2024 Rent Day bonus to Avios.

More on Rent Day for May 2026:

Of course, that isn’t the only feature that Bilt is bringing back for May’s Rent Day. First up, the game show Rent Free, which allows members to earn free rent and other prizes, will air on the 1st. This month’s player is famed actress (and one-time Oscar host) Anne Hathaway, whose new movie The Devil Wears Prada 2 happens to open on Rent Day.

Speaking of that film, Bilt is also hosting private screenings in New York, Los Angeles, and the Austin area. While the Texas screening is complimentary, tickets to the two coastal events can be purchased for 1,500 Bilt Points or $25 each. These tickets will be available on Tuesday, April 28th, with Platinum and Gold members enjoying a presale starting at noon Eastern.

Finally, as always, Bilt credit card customers can earn double points (up to 1,000 bonus points) on Rent Day. This means that those with the Bilt Blue card can earn 2x points on all purchases, excluding housing payments, while Bilt Obsidian customers can earn 6x points on either dining purchases or grocery purchases (depending on which category they’ve selected) as well as 4x on travel purchases, and 2x on all other purchases aside from housing payments. Lastly, Bilt Palladium members can earn 4x points on all non-housing payment purchases, up to the bonus cap.

My Thoughts:

Well, it’s disappointing to see that this transfer bonus isn’t as lucrative as the last time that it was offered. Most notably, if you’re a Blue member, you now have to spend $150 in Bilt Cash to claim the same 50% bonus you got for free the last time Bilt offered a British Airways bonus. Despite that, this could still be a decent deal for those with a BA redemption in mind.

The other thing I want to mention here is Bilt’s promotion savvy. I do hope that Disney is giving them some money for this Devil Wears Prada 2 tie-in (and they probably are, seeing as I can’t escape ads for that film). Either way, Anne Hathaway is quite a “get” for the Rent Free show. Kudos to Bilt on that — now give us better bonuses back!
