Bilt Announces Home Collection Deal for May 2024 Rent Day
For May’s Rent Day, Bilt is offering a deal that will allow members to decrease their rent bill while also adding to their home decor.
About the Home Collection offer:
Bilt has crafted a unique Rent Day offer for May 2024. Through the 1st, when Bilt members redeem their points toward rent payments, they’ll receive the same number of points to be used toward Bilt Home Collection items. To take advantage of this offer, members can head to the Pay Rent tab, select Pay with Points, and choose how many points they’d like to redeem. These points will then automatically be applied to the members’ next rent payment.
This offer coincides with the debut of a new Home Capsule Collection. Additionally, Bilt’s Home Design Collection features a variety of items that members can select. Items featured include a concrete match striker (2,500 points), chess set (5,000 points), paper towel holder (7,500 points), patina plate set (10,000 points), record player (12,500 points), and much more.
More Rent Day 2024 features:
May 2024’s Rent Day will also see Bilt hosting private dining experiences at select restaurants in New York, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Washington D.C., and Seattle. Each of these events will take place on May 1st, with bookings opening at noon Eastern on April 26th. Tickets for these dining experiences range from $100 or 10,000 Bilt Points per person to $150 or 15,000 Bilt Points per person.
Of course, per usual, Rent Day will also give Bilt Mastercard customers the chance to earn double points on nearly all purchases. On the 1st of the month, cardholders can earn 6x points on dining, 4x points on select travel, and 2x points on all other purchases except for rent.
My thoughts:
Bilt’s offer to essentially refund points redeemed for rent as a “store credit” is definitely an interesting idea. Despite that fact, it still might not be the best deal. That’s because redeeming Bilt Points for rent values them at 0.55¢ each — compared to 1.25¢ each for Bilt Travel or 1.5¢ each when used toward a down payment on a home. So, even with the “double dip” opportunity, the overall value may be lacking.
I’m also a bit surprised that Bilt has yet to offer a Rent Day transfer bonus for Alaska Airlines since the airline came aboard as a transfer partner in March. Perhaps Bilt is waiting until the summer travel season — or until their partnership with American Airlines officially ends.
All things considered, May 2024 will likely go down as one of the lesser Rent Day offers so far. But, for the right person, it could still offer some value.
