Bilt Announces Flying Blue Transfer Bonus for May Rent Day

With the first of the month just around the corner, Bilt Rewards has announced its latest round of Rent Day promotions for May. As part of this month’s event, customers will be able to take advantage of a transfer bonus to Flying Blue – the loyalty program for Air France and KLM.

On May 1st (and May 1st only), Bilt and Flying Blue will offer a 100% transfer bonus. Rather than the regular 1:1 transfer rate, users will be able to turn 1 Bilt point into 2 Flying Blue miles when they take advantage of this one-day deal. In order to transfer points, customers will need to have a Flying Blue account — although those without one can create a free account on AirFrance.com or KLM.com. Of note, transfers must be made in multiples of 1,000 points. Furthermore, a minimum transfer amount of 2,000 exists for Blue tier Bilt members, while those in the Silver tier can transfer as few as 1,000 points.

This Flying Blue transfer bonus is only the latest example of Bilt’s Rent Day promotion, which kicked off last fall. Previously, other similar bonuses have been offered, including a deal in February that offered customers a 1:2 transfer rate for Hawaiian Airlines. Elsewhere, Bilt has also partnered with travel brands such as Hyatt and United to bring status challenges to Bily customers, allowing them to enjoy certain elite-level benefits for a limited time and extend those perks if they met certain requirements during the challenge period.

Meanwhile, each Rent Day, Bilt Mastercard members earn double points on nearly all purchases, meaning 6x on dining, 4x on select travel purchases, and 2x on all other purchases except for rent payments.

Considering that the summer travel season is nearly upon us, Bilt’s promotion with Flying Blue is perfectly timed. Speaking of timing, however, with this offer only available on May 1st, prospective travelers will need to make sure to complete their transfer during that day. However, it’s usually not advised that customers transfer points without having a specific redemption in mind.

Because of this, those thinking about taking a European vacation with this offer may benefit from researching potential booking options now so that they have a plan in place once the bonus goes live. Luckily, Bilt also has a tool for this as the company partnered with Point.me to integrate an award travel search feature in the app. Hopefully, between this tool and the Flying Blue Rent Day bonus, Bilt customers will be able to book their next getaway at the best value possible.
