Apple Card Debuts AirPods Pro Bonus Offer for New Cardholders
Apple is looking to entice potential Apple Card applicants with a special offer worth a pair of AirPods Pro.
About Apple Card’s Bonus Offer:
The Apple Card is currently offering a new bonus worth up to $250 — which is the cost of the AirPods Pro 3 (excluding tax). To take advantage of this deal, new Apple Card customers must be approved for the card and buy a pair of AirPods Pro 3 by June 15th.
Once cardholders qualify for the offer, they’ll earn their bonus in installments of $25. Moreover, customers will need to make at least 10 purchases on their card in a month to earn their $25 installment. These monthly installments start July 1st and run through April 30th, 2027. Thus, over the course of those 10 months, cardholders will have the opportunity to earn all $250.
More on Apple Card:
One unique feature of the Apple Card is that, instead of earning “regular” cashback, it earns Daily Cash. This means that, soon after an eligible purchase posts to the card, the earned Daily Cash will be added to the available balance. Daily Cash can then be spent via Apple Cash or can be automatically deposited to an Apple Card Savings account.
With the Apple Card, customers can earn 2% Daily Cash on all purchases made using the card via Apple Pay (purchases made with the physical card earn 1% Daily Cash). Additionally, customers can earn 3% Daily Cash on purchases from Apple as well as from select brands, including:
- Uber/Uber Eats
- Walgreens/Duane Reade
- Exxon/Mobil
- Nike
- Booking.com
- Chargepoint
- Hertz
- Ace
Apple Card customers can also enjoy interest-free financing on eligible Apple product purchases. The card has no annual fee.
Note that, while the Apple Card is currently issued by Goldman Sachs, Apple has announced plans to move all Apple Card accounts to Chase in the future. However, this process won’t be completed until at least 2028. No details about what other changes could come with this transition have been revealed at this time.
My Thoughts:
One of the biggest drawbacks of the Apple Card overall is that it doesn’t typically have a welcome bonus. So, off the bat, this is an improvement. Plus, while I scoffed at the idea of paying more than $200 for a pair of headphones, I can’t pretend as if AirPods Pro haven’t been a game-changer. That said, it’s annoying that you’ll not only receive your bonus over the course of several months but will also need to make more purchases each of those months to earn your installment. Still, it’s better than nothing.
Of course, the offer window is pretty short. So, if you’ve been thinking about picking up an Apple Card and would like a “free” pair of AirPods, you might want to jump on this deal.
