American Express Announces March Member Week Celebration
In celebration of its 175th anniversary, American Express has announced that it will be hosting Member Week next month.
About Amex Members Week:
Amex is bringing back Members Week for 2025 — this time launching the affair in March as opposed to the traditional fall timeframe. This latest event also marks the first time the company has celebrated it since the 2023 edition.
2025’s American Express Member Week will be held from March 17th through the 21st. Although few details have been announced, Amex has teased some of the brands they’ll be partnering with for the offering. This list includes:
- Levi’s
- Lowe’s
- Macy’s
- Saucony
- Exxon/Mobil
- Shiseido
- Stanley
- Wolverine
- Hilton
- Barnes & Noble
- Brooks Brothers
- Hertz
- Kiehl’s
In years past, Member Week has included several special Amex Offers, allowing cardholders to save on purchases from select brands. For example, some 2023 deals included saving $80 on bookings of $200 or more at certain Hilton properties, $50 back after spending $100+ at Dell, $40 off a $75+ Super Duolingo subscription, and more. Additionally, 2022 brought offers from the likes of Calm and HBO Max (now Max) among others.
Beyond the potential for exclusive Amex Offers, Member Week will bring bonuses to other Amex platforms including Resy. According to that service’s site, as part of 2025 Member Week, cardholders will enjoy a complimentary specialty beverage (with the purchase of food during dinner service) at participating Resy restaurant locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Washington D.C., Miami, and New York. The slate of venues is expected to be announced on February 28th.
My thoughts:
To be honest, Member Week hasn’t been that big of a deal for me — to the point that I didn’t notice its absence in 2024. Nevertheless, past years have brought some usable and lucrative special Amex Offers. In turn, I am looking forward to seeing what’s in store for us this time around. On that note, I will say that the line-up does seem lengthy, so here’s hoping they come through with some decent deals for each.
As for the Resy component, while useless to me, I suppose this could be a nice perk for cardholders in those cities — and goes nicely with the Gold Card’s $50 semiannual Resy credit. However, looking back at my past coverage, it seems that 2022 saw cardmembers earning up to $25 in statement credits after spending $75 or more at participating Resy locations. I know drinks can be pricey, but $25 still sounds better than a free cocktail.
The good news is that I already get enough value out of my Platinum Card to justify holding onto it. This means that I don’t need Member Week to blow me out of the water to feel as though I’m getting my money’s worth. But, if Amex does want to impress me with some great deals, I’m all for it.
