A new Capital One Venture Rewards welcome bonus offer has arrived — and it’s an attractive one.
About the Capital One Venture Card Welcome Bonus:
Those eyeing the Capital One Venture Rewards card can currently claim a welcome bonus worth more than $1,000 in travel. New Venture card customers can now earn 75,000 bonus miles after spending at least $4,000 on purchases on the card within the first 3 months from account opening. Plus, cardholders will receive a $300 “stays credit,” good for hotel or vacation rental bookings made via Capital One Travel. This credit must be used within the first cardholder year.
While the standard welcome offer for the Capital One Venture card includes the 75,000 bonus miles, the $300 stay credit is unique. Moreover, this tops the $250 Capital One Travel credit that’s been offered as part of welcome bonuses in recent months. However, it should be noted that the previous offer included a credit that was good for any Capital One Travel purchase, while this latest $300 credit is limited to hotel and vacation rental stays.

With the Capital One Venture Rewards card, customers can earn 2x miles on every purchase they make, regardless of purchase category. Additionally, cardholders earn 5x miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars booked using the Capital One Travel portal.
These miles can be redeemed at a value of 1¢ each for any eligible travel purchase (other redemption options such as cashback are available with lesser per-mile values). Alternatively, Capital One has more than 20 travel partner programs, allowing customers to convert their miles to various popular loyalty currencies.
The Capital One Venture card has a $95 annual fee.
My Thoughts:
Although the Venture has previously offered a 100,000-mile bonus in the past, I’d argue that this latest offer is among the best we’ve seen from the card. Setting point transfer opportunities aside, the 75,000 miles are worth $750 in travel, while the $300 stays credit brings the total value up to $1,050. And, yes, that tops the 75,000 + $250 credit I got when I opened the card last year.
That said, as I noted above, this credit is a bit different as it is limited to hotel/vacation rental stays. Although that wouldn’t be an issue for me, I can understand why that might be a downgrade or even a dealbreaker for others.
Nevertheless, if you’ve considered the Capital One Venture card before, I think this is a great deal that makes that $95 annual fee well worth it. After that, though, you can decide whether to keep the card, upgrade to the Venture X, or cancel.
