Delta’s portfolio of SkyMiles credit cards are offering enhanced welcome bonuses — including one deal that’s never been offered before.
About the Current Delta SkyMiles Credit Card Offers:
Three of the Delta SkyMiles American Express cards are currently offering unique welcome bonuses. At the top of the list is the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card with an all-new welcome offer.
Right now, new Delta SkyMiles Reserve credit card customers can earn 50,000 bonus miles plus two round-trip flights in Delta Comfort after spending $10,000 on the card within the first six months from account opening. Note that these vouchers are valid for flights within the continental United States, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands and must be used to book flights at least 21 days in advance. Additionally, customers are responsible for paying applicable taxes and fees when using these vouchers.
With the $650 annual fee Delta SkyMiles Reserve card, customers can get a bevy of benefits. That includes 15 Sky Club airport lounge visits each Delta Medallion Year — or unlimited Delta Sky Club access after spending $75,000 on the card in a calendar year. Cardholders also enjoy $20 per month in Resy credits, $10 per month in rideshare credits, up to $200 per year in credits toward prepaid hotels or vacation rentals through Delta Stays, and more. Additionally, each renewal year, customers can earn a Companion Certificate, good for a round-trip domestic, Caribbean, or Central American flight in Delta First, Delta Comfort, or Delta Main.
Meanwhile, two other Delta SkyMiles cards are also boasting new welcome offers. With the Delta SkyMiles Gold card, new cardholders can earn as high as 80,000 bonus miles and a $250 statement credit after spending $3,000 or more in purchases on the card within the first six months. Similarly, the Delta SkyMiles Platinum is offering as high as 90,000 bonus miles and a $300 statement credit after spending at least $4,000 in purchases on the card during the first six months. For these “as high as” offers, applicants are able to see their final welcome bonus offer before accepting and moving forward with opening the card. The Delta SkyMiles Gold has an annual fee of $150 (waived for the first year) while the Delta SkyMiles Platinum’s annual fee is $350.
My Thoughts:
It’s difficult to put an exact value on the Delta SkyMiles Reserve offer — but two round-trip flights in Delta Comfort plus 5,000 miles sounds like a pretty good deal to me! I imagine these vouchers could easily add up to thousands in savings if maximized. And, while $10,000 in spending is quite a lot, the six-month timeframe makes this much more achievable in my opinion.
As for the other deals, although we’ve seen higher offers in terms of total miles, the statement credit components do make these interesting for travelers who might want a bit of a kick-back now rather than sitting on a pile of miles. Then again, the “as high as” language rears its ugly head… which I suppose makes the SkyMiles Reserve offer even more attractive.
All in all, if you’re a Delta flyer, it may be a good time to take a closer look at the SkyMiles card lineup and see which card/offer makes the most sense for you. But if you do want to nab these offers, be sure to apply before the November 4th expiration date.
