OnePay members can now add more cards to their Apple Wallet.
About OnePay’s Apple Wallet Support:
Recently, OnePay revealed expanded support for Apple Pay. Now, customers can add their OnePay CashRewards credit card to Apple Wallet and use it via Apple Pay on devices such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Moreover, OnePay says that its OnePay Builder Card will also gain Apple Wallet support later this fall. Previously, only the OnePay debit card could be added to Apple Pay, with that update coming in 2022. Once cards are added to Apple Wallet, they can be used for both online and in-store purchases (where supported).
In a press release, OnePay noted that this added feature gives customers an “easier and more secure way” to pay. That’s because Apple Wallet payments require one of Apple’s security technologies (Face ID, Touch ID, PIN, etc.) to authenticate. Additionally, Apple Pay transactions generate payment tokens, helping keep card information private.
This Apple Pay support expansion comes as Walmart announced plans to finally add tap-to-pay to its Walmart and Sam’s Club stores. By the end of the year, all retail locations are expected to get this update, followed by gas station terminals in mid-2027. Prior to this, Walmart had been one of the most notable holdouts when it came to mobile payments, instead pushing its proprietary Walmart Pay technology.
To add OnePay cards to Apple Wallet, customers can go to Wallet on their device and tap the “+” to get started. Alternatively, members can also add their eligible cards via the OnePay app. For example, from the Home dashboard, customers may see an “Add your card to Apple Wallet” banner below the card. Tapping this option will allow them to select which devices they’d like to add their card to.

My Thoughts:
I honestly forgot that OnePay debit cards could already be added to Apple Wallet. However, that’s probably a holdover from the app’s previous life before Walmart came along. Either way, now that Walmart is ending its tap-to-pay beef, credit card customers will surely be glad to have this as an option.
