Bilt Rent Day for July 2024 Includes Alaska Airlines Transfer Bonus

Bilt Rewards is gearing up for July’s Rent Day, announcing special offers in partnership with Alaska Airlines.

About July 2024’s Rent Day offers:

On July 1st, Bilt Members will be able to take advantage of at least one deal from Alaska Airlines. First, the airline and Bilt will be offering a transfer bonus. With this, customers will be able to transfer their Bilt Points to Alaska Air Mileage Plan and earn up to a 100% bonus (meaning 1 Bilt Point could be turned into 2 Alaska Air Mileage Plan). However, the size of the bonus will depend on the customer’s Bilt status:

  • Blue (entry-level): 25% bonus
  • Silver: 50% bonus
  • Gold: 75% bonus
  • Platinum: 100% bonus

Regardless of which tier members are in, there is a 50,000-point cap on this offer.

On top of this transfer bonus offer, Alaska Air is also presenting a status match opportunity to Bilt members with Gold status or higher. Qualifying Gold members will be able to unlock six months of complimentary Alaska MVP Status, while those with Platinum can earn six months of Alaska MVP Gold Status. With this status, flyers can enjoy free checked bags, priority check-in and boarding, upgrades when available, and more.

To claim this status match, Gold and Platinum Bilt Members will need to transfer 10,000 Bilt Points to Alaska Air Mileage Plan. However, these points will not be eligible for the transfer bonus (and, thus, won’t count against the 50,000-point cap either). Once this is completed, members should see their updated status clear within 14 business days. Then, their Alaska MVP Gold Status or Alaska MVP Status will be good through December 31st, 2024.

More on Bilt Rent Day:

In addition to the special Alaska Airlines deals, some Bilt Rent Day staples will return for July. This includes the recently revamped version of the Rent Free gameshow (available to play now) as well as Bilt Point Quest. Meanwhile, other offerings include Bilt dining events, Rent Day Rides at SoulCycle, and more.

Of course, Bilt Mastercard customers can also earn double points on most purchases made on July 1st. This means cardholders can earn 6x points on dining, 4x on select travel, and 2x on all other purchases — except for rent.

My thoughts:

It’s ironic that the first Bilt Rent Day to follow reporting suggesting Wells Fargo is losing millions of dollars per month on the Bilt Mastercard sees a return to form of sorts. After at least two relatively disappointing Rent Day offers, we’re finally getting the Alaska Airline transfer bonus that I had expected when the carrier’s partnership was first announced in March. Of course, the timing could also have something to do with American Airlines officially departing the Bilt platform. In fact, yesterday was the last day for members to transfer points to American — and the Rent Day announcement arrived today.

Even though I don’t live near anywhere Alaska flies and do not have high enough Bilt status to qualify for the status match offer, I’m pretty impressed with July’s Rent Day roster and, as always, look forward to seeing what’s ahead.

2025 SoFi Checking and Savings Review

Ever since I started taking an interest in the FinTech sector, one company whose name I’ve seen pop up over and over again is SoFi.
