Bilt Announces Black Friday and December 2023 Rent Day Offers

With the holiday approaching, Bilt has not only announced its December 2023 Rent Day plans a bit early but is also gifting cardholders with a special Black Friday bonus.

About the Black Friday (and beyond) offer:

Before we get to the December 2023 Rent Day-specific offers, Bilt is enabling cardholders to earn bonus points on their holiday shopping. From November 23rd through November 27th, Bilt Mastercard customers will earn 2x points on purchases, excluding rent. This means that cardholders will be able to score double points on generic category purchases during Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Money. This offer is capped at 20,000 bonus points and, as a reminder, cardholders must make at least five purchases per month with their card in order to earn points.

December Rent Day offers:

For December, Bilt is once again emphasizing its Bilt Dining platform. From Black Friday (November 24th) through December 1st, customers can earn 10x Bilt points at Bilt Dining restaurants. This is double the normal 5x that users already receive when using a linked card at participating locations. Plus, while this offer applies to any linked Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card, those who do use their Bilt Mastercard to pay at Bilt Dining locations on December 1st will earn a total of 16x points — 10x from the offer and 6x from the Rent Day double dining category. Bilt Dining currently features select establishments in more than 20 cities across the country.

On Rent Day, Bilt is also offering an Ultimate Tasting Experience — this time featuring the flavors of Italy. Hosted in New York City, this event will include five curated courses from Saint Theo’s, Di Fara, A Pasta Bar, and La Baia. While the event itself will take place on December 1st, bookings will open at noon Eastern on November 25th. Reservations will be exclusive to Bilt Mastercard customers and come at a cost of $150 per person or 12,500 Bilt points.

Other Rent Day features:

Beyond those special offers, a slate of regular Rent Day deals are back for December as well. Most notably, this includes double points on all non-rent purchases for Bilt Mastercard customers. This equates to 6x on dining, 4x on select travel, and 2x on all other purchases (sans rent). Additionally, customers will have a chance to score bonus points by playing Point Quest and earn a shot at scoring free rent with Bilt’s game show Rent Free.

My thoughts:

I first came across news of this offer from another site I visit frequently. Unfortunately, they mistakenly listed the deal as 10x on dining — not specifically Bilt Dining. That obviously would have been a lot more exciting but, alas, there still aren’t any Bilt Dining locations in my area and I’m not traveling this holiday weekend. So that part of the deal is a bust.

As for the doubled shopping points, while it’s a nice gesture, 2x still isn’t that exciting since that’s the base for other cards. Then again, I don’t personally have any 2% flat rate cards — and the value of Bilt points can be increased by redeeming for Bilt Travel or using transfer partners. Either way, I looked back and noticed that 2022’s offer was double points in all categories (excluding rent, of course) from Black Friday through Rent Day itself. In that context, this year’s offer is a definite downgrade. Still, looking at 2023 as a whole, Bilt Rent Day has been a success and I look forward to seeing what they have cooking for the new year.
