What’s a Prime Day? Walmart has announced some special offers for its own retail event: Walmart+ Day.
About the offers:
From July 11th through 13th, Walmart will celebrate Walmart+ Day. During this event, it will offer a number of deals on various items. While these sales are available to all shoppers, Walmart+ members can enjoy early access. What’s more, members can now take advantage of other special offers.
First, current paid Walmart+ customers can get $30 off pet-sitting services on the Rover app. According to the FAQ, this promo code can be used across multiple bookings, meaning that users won’t need to use up the full $30 in one shot. Additionally, this offer will be available through October 10th.
Elsewhere, another Walmart+ Week deal comes from Spafinder. Through July 15th, customers can get 30% off of a Spafinder gift card of $100 or more. These gift cards can then be used at thousands of spas, salons, and studios — and do not expire.
Lastly, another new offer for Walmart+ users involves Panera’s Unlimited Sip Club. Using a promo code, customers can receive six months of Unlimited Sip for $5 a month (plus tax) as well as earn a $5 monthly MyPanera reward during that six months. However, these MyPanera rewards will expire at the end of each billing cycle. For context, an Unlimited Sip Club membership typically comes at a cost of $11.99 a month or $119.99 a year. This $11.99 monthly rate will kick in after the six-month promotional period unless customers cancel their subscriptions.
As for those who aren’t already Walmart+ members, the retailer also has a discounted deal for that. Through July 13th, Walmart is offering 50% off an annual subscription. This means that shoppers can get their first year of the service for $49. Those who do join with this deal will then be eligible for the aforementioned offers.
About Walmart+:
With Walmart+, members can take advantage of free local delivery on orders over $35 as well as free shipping with no order minimum. On top of that, members can save 10¢ per gallon of gas at Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, and Murphy stations. In September of last year, Walmart+ also added a Paramount+ Essential streaming subscription to the program, giving customers access to thousands of streaming shows and movies.
Also of note is that The Platinum Card from American Express currently offers a monthly statement credit for Walmart+. Cardholders can use their Platinum card to pay for their monthly membership and receive a statement credit of $12.95 per month.
My thoughts:
As some who has a Walmart+ membership via my Amex Platinum, I’m actually pretty excited about at least one of these deals: the one from Rover. Having used the app before, I’m sure we’ll be able to make use of the $30 promo code. On that note, as far as I can tell, this deal is available to returning customers, so that’s good news.
So do I think others should take advantage of Walmart+ Week? Well, that depends. While the $49 per year rate isn’t too bad, you’ll really need to take advantage of the gas, Paramount+, and delivery/shipping perks to cover the cost. But, if you’ve been thinking about signing up, this may be an opportune time to do so.
