Small Business Banking App Lili Introduces Lili Academy

Oftentimes, when people think of the “entrepreneur spirit,” they assume it means striking out completely on your own. While setting your own course and working for yourself can be key reasons why individuals elect to start a small business, the truth is that there’s no shame in seeking some help. Luckily, there are now a number of free resources entrepreneurs can utilize to help teach them important business topics and strategies they might not know about. Now, another education platform in that vein can be added to the list.

This week, the small business and freelancer banking app Lili announced the debut of a new education resource site called Lili Academy. Among the financial topics covered on the platform are taxes, health insurance, and more. Additionally, “modern marketing” tips from social media ads to SEO are also covered on the site. These modules are accessible to customers and non-customers alike on the Lili Academy site.

Commenting on the Lili Academy initiative, Lili CEO and co-founder Lilac Bar David stated, “Small businesses are a vital artery in our ever-evolving economy, yet are underserved and underrepresented by traditional financial platforms. We are proud to position our brand to solve the pain points of over 32 million small businesses in America face with their banking providers.”

Bar David also singled out the struggles that the pandemic and economic factors have brought, noting, “The last two years have ushered in a new rise of small businesses in America, and Lili is poised to provide the consolidated banking tools they need to succeed.”

Alongside the launch of Lili Academy, the FinTech also announced a revamp of its app. While the platform still provides support for banking, taxes, money transfers, invoicing, and expense reports, the application features a new interface. As Bar David explains, “This revamp comes in tandem with a growing shift in the future of work in America over the past two years. Workers today are more empowered, and more motivated to be their own boss and begin their small business journey. Lili provides all aspiring entrepreneurs the tools and resources they need to implement their lofty ambitions into practice.”

As Lili notes, the idea to introduce small business resources was inspired by the fact that, despite an estimate that suggests 17 million new small businesses will be created this year alone, there’s a lack of entrepreneurial education. Moreover, according to a recent report, 62% of Gen Zers surveyed have started or intend to start a small business. This inspired the app to provide guidance to these young entrepreneurs (as well as their older cohorts). Of course, with 10 modules currently available, the site may not yet be as comprehensive as it could be. Nevertheless, there’s always a need for more small business resources, so it’s great to see Lili providing just that.
