Delta and American Express Reveal Limited Time Offers for Co-Branded Cards

If you plan on going back to the skies this summer, you’re definitely not alone. In fact, with travel ramping back up, we’ve seen a slew of credit card issuers and travel brands upping their offers in a bid to attract new customers. Case in point: American Express and Delta have rolled out new limited-time offers for a number of their co-branded credit cards.

First up is the Delta SkyMiles Gold American Express Card. Currently, new cardholders can earn 70,000 bonus SkyMiles when they spend $2,000 in purchases on the card in their first three months. What’s more, cardmembers will receive a $200 statement credit when they make a Delta purchase with their new card within their first three months. On top of that, although the Delta SkyMiles Gold card carries a $99 annual fee, this is waived for the first year. Looking beyond the welcome offer, this card earns 2x miles at restaurants (including takeout and delivery), 2x miles at U.S. supermarkets, 2x miles on Delta purchases, and 1x miles on everything else. Cardholders also enjoy such perks as checking their first bag free when flying Delta, earning a $100 Delta Flight Credit after spending $10,000 in purchases on your card in a calendar year, and more.

Next, the Delta SkyMiles Platinum American Express Card has a similarly attractive offer. New cardholders can score an impressive 90,000 bonus miles when they spend $3,000 in purchases on the card within their first three months. Also, just like with the SkyMiles Gold card, Platinum cardholders can earn a $200 statement credit after they make a Delta purchase during their first three months. In this case, however, the card’s $250 annual fee is not waived. As for the rewards featured on the SkyMiles Platinum, it earns 3x miles on Delta purchases, 3x miles on hotel bookings (made directly with the hotel), 2x miles on dining, 2x miles at U.S. supermarkets, and 1x miles on all other purchases. Meanwhile, cardholders can also receive a Domestic Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate each year when they renew the card.

That then brings us to the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card. Not only can new cardholders currently earn 80,000 bonus SkyMiles when they spend $5,000 in purchases on the card in the first three months but they’ll also earn 20,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), putting them closer to earning Delta Medallion Status. Of course, the SkyMiles Reserve is also offering a $200 statement credit when new customers make a Delta purchase the card during their first three months. With this card, members will earn 3x miles on Delta purchases and 1x miles on all other purchases. However, one of the biggest perks of this card is that it offers complimentary Delta Sky Club access when you fly Delta — and now cardholders can also gain access to Amex’s Centurion Lounges when they charge their Delta flight to their Reserve card. Card members also receive two Delta Sky Club One-Time Guest Passes per year. If that weren’t enough, cardholders also receive a Domestic First Class, Delta Comfort+ or Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate each year when they renew the card. However, it should be noted that the SkyMiles Reserve has an annual fee of $550.

Each of these offers are current set to expire on July 28th, 2021. Therefore, if you’re a regular Delta flyer (or want to become one), it may be a good time to add one of these options to your wallet.

2025 SoFi Checking and Savings Review

Ever since I started taking an interest in the FinTech sector, one company whose name I’ve seen pop up over and over again is SoFi. That was later sent into overdrive as the company has not only become a household name thanks to its stadium naming rights deal but also because of the company’s continued product expansions.
