Mesa Homeowners Card Introduces Limited-Time Welcome Bonus

The Mesa Homeowners card is offering a rare welcome bonus — but only for a limited time.

About the Welcome Bonus Offer:

For one more week, new Mesa Homeowners Card customers can claim a special welcome offer. Currently, new cardholders can earn 50,000 bonus Mesa points after spending at least $12,000 on the card within their first 90 days. However, in order to take advantage of this offer, applicants must enter code SEPT50. Additionally, this offer is set to expire on September 30th, 2025. Typically, the Mesa Homeowners card does not offer any welcome bonus.

At this time, Mesa members have several options for redeeming Mesa Points — with different options featuring varying point value assessments. For example, 50,000 points could be redeemed for a $300 statement credit or (0.6¢ per point) or $400 toward a mortgage payment (0.8¢ per point). Other options include gift cards from top brands (0.8¢ per point) and travel bookings via Mesa’s portal (upwards of 1¢ per point). Additionally, Mesa offers points transfers to airlines such as Air Canada, SAS, and more, as well as the Accor hotel network.

More on the Mesa Homeowners Card:

With the Mesa Homeowners Card, members can earn rewards on their mortgage payments as well as on everyday purchases. First, customers can earn 1 Mesa Point per dollar spend on their mortgage when they make at least $1,000 in purchases per month with the card. To do this, cardholders will link the bank account that they use to pay their mortgage so that Mesa can verify the amount. Then, once the $1,000 minimum is reached, the points will be applied.

Outside of mortgage payments, the Mesa card also earns rewards in some key categories. This includes earning 3x points on “home & family expenses” such as — home improvement purchases, decor, maintenance, utilities, and daycare. Cardholders can also earn 2x on groceries and 2x on gas/EV charging. All other purchases earn 1x points.

A unique aspect of the Mesa card is that, while it carries no annual fee, it offers a series of credits for cardholders. Currently, members can earn up to $120 per year ($30 per quarter) back on purchases at Lowe’s, up to $65 back annually on a Costco membership, up to $120 a year ($10 per month) back on Wag! purchases, and more.

My Thoughts:

Considering that the Mesa Homeowners Card usually lacks any kind of welcome bonus, this could be a good time to apply. That said, spending $12,000 in 90 days is likely to be a tall order for most. That’s especially true since, in contrast to the Bilt card, Mesa members don’t actually put their mortgage payments on the card itself (in other words, these payments won’t help you towards your $12,000 minimum spending goal). Thus, it’s kind of a lot of work for what will amount to about $500 in rewards.

Nevertheless, if you’re a homeowner — and perhaps one with a project you need to pay for in the next three months — this offer and card could be right for you. Just make sure to use the code SEPT50 and apply before September 30th.
