Marriott Bonvoy and American Express have reinstated best-ever welcome bonuses for two of their co-branded credit cards.

About the Bonuses:

For a limited time, new Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card customers can earn enhanced welcome bonuses.

Starting with the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy, new cardholders can earn 155,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in purchases on the card within their first six months of account opening. By comparison, the regular welcome offer for this card is 85,000 bonus points.

As for the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant card, new customers can score 185,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 in purchases on the card within their first six months. That Bonvoy point sum is far higher than the standard 95,000-point bonus for the card.

Both of these offers are currently set to expire on May 14th, 2025.

About the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and Brilliant Cards:

Both of these co-branded cards include plenty of rewards and perks for Marriott Bonvoy guests.

With the Bevy card, travelers can earn up to 18.5 Marriott Bonvoy points for every $1 spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels. This includes 6x points from the card itself as well as 10x for being a Marriott Bonvoy member and 2.5x points as a feature of the complimentary Gold Elite status offered to cardholders. As for other rewards, the Bevy earns 4x points at restaurants worldwide, as well as on food delivery apps in the United States plus 4x points at U.S. supermarkets. Note that these 4x categories are capped at $15,000 in combined spending per calendar year. All other purchases earn 2x.

In terms of other perks, Marriott Bonvoy Bevy cardholders can earn one Free Night Award (redeemable for up to 50,000 points) after spending $15,000 on the card in a calendar year. As mentioned, the card also includes automatic Gold Elite status — but, on top of that, cardholders receive 15 Elite Night Credits to put them closer to earning the next status tier.

Currently, the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy American Express Card carries an annual fee of $250.

Moving onto the Brilliant card, this top-tier offering includes complimentary Platinum Elite status plus 25 Elite Night Credits. The card also features up to $300 per year in dining credits ($25 per month), triggered by eligible dining purchases made with your card. As for other credits, cardholders enjoy a $100 property credit on qualifying charges made at The Ritz-Carlton or St. Regis properties when you book directly and stay a minimum of 2 nights. Lastly, customers can earn up to a $120 statement credit toward Global Entry or TSA Precheck application fees every four years.

Meanwhile, perhaps the most notable benefit comes upon card renewal. Each year, Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant cardholders can earn one Free Night Award redeemable for up to 85,000 points. This award is issued yearly after your card renewal month.

With the Brilliant card, customers can earn up to 21x points on Marriott Bonvoy purchases — 6x from the card, 10x as a Bonvoy member, and 5x from the included Platinum Elite status. The card also earns 3x points at restaurants worldwide, 3x on flights booked directly with airlines, and 2x on all other purchases.

At this time, the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card has an annual fee of $650.

My Thoughts:

Even when you consider that Marriott Bonvoy points are typically valued between 0.7¢ and 0.9¢ each, these are still some massive bonuses. Yet, that doesn’t exactly make them no-brainers given the annual fees that both cards carry as well as the relatively high spending requirements. To the latter point, though, at least you have six months to reach this amount versus the three months that other issuers typically give.

The bottom line is that these are best-ever deals — so, if you’ve ever considered the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy or Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant cards before, you may want to apply for May 14th, 2025 in order to take advantage of these special offers.
